Roll up, roll up, for all the fun of the fair! More commonly seen outside amusement arcades and supermarkets, coin operated rides are not often associated with funfairs. But they do have many connections with the fairground, from the graceful galloper-style horses to the talented fairground artists who moved into the kiddie ride manufacturing industry. So it's not surprising that miniature funfair rides such as swingboats, ferris wheels and roundabouts were soon being made in the coin operated variety.
I have also counted see-saws under this category - yes, I do realise they are not really fairground attractions, but they seemed most at home alongside the swingboats!
