2001 Amutec Flyer

Manufactured by Amutec of Mablethorpe, this Fire Engine made its British Debut at the Amusement Trades Exhibition International in January 1990.  It had previously been shown at the Atlanta Parks Show in the USA.


Queen's Market, Rhyl, May 2017.  Quite an early release, still operating on 20p a ride!  It was in a well used condition with lights no longer working and it looked a bit tatty overall.  However, it did have its original soundtrack and push button sound effects.  It had been many years since I'd heard one of these with its original sound, and the nostalgia made me quite tearful!

Hall's Amusements, Chapel St Leonards, June 2017

The ride measured 74" x 34" x 44" and weighed 386lbs according to the 1990 Amutec catalogue.  It cost £1,897.00 to purchase in 1990, which had risen to £2,795.00 by 2001.
