Manufactured by RG Mitchell, the Thunderbird 1 rocket was released in 1994. While Thunderbird 2 was far more popular, this one was advertised as a compact alternative for locations with less floor space.

When in motion, the ride gently rotated 180 degrees back and forth while playing a digitised recording of the Thunderbirds soundtrack, along with Scott Tracey's voice. Special features included a rolling action screen, and two push buttons and two levers for sound effects.
