Space Walker

Manufactured by BAFCO of Alford, the Space Walker was released in 1985.  It was originally designed as a two-seater, with one astronaut either side of the central spacecraft-styled column.  However, due to technical problems with the lifting mechanism, it was redesigned as a single seater.

Once a coin was inserted, the astronaut seat would move gently up and down the red post with a Mechanical Lift motion, giving the rider a sensation of floating in space.

The ride was still in production in the late 1990s as part of BAFCO's "Futuristic Rides" range, sold under the name of "Astronaut".
