The Magic Roundabout (Edwin Hall)

Sunspot Arcade, Clapham Junction - The Coin Slot, December 1968

The first Magic Roundabout kiddie ride was released by Edwin Hall & Co. in 1968.  The "Merry-Go-Round" (the name it was usually sold under) had two mounts - the lovable Dougal and...a random galloper horse.  Hmm...  I've never found out whether the horse was included due to some kind of licensing issue with the Magic Roundabout rights holders, or whether Edwin Hall just wanted his fairground roots incorporated into as many of his rides as possible!

However, Edwin Hall did release a "snail" ride in 1969.  While I have never seen a photograph of Hall's snail, I have seen a JM Kiddie Rides snail resembling Brian from the Magic Roundabout.  I presume this was Edwin Hall's design and it never made it onto the Merry-Go-Round for some reason.
