Space Bunny

Whittaker Brothers Stand, 1972 Amusement Trades Exhibition - The Coin Slot, February 1972

Released by Whittaker Brothers in January 1972, the Space Bunny was a huge success.  The ride took the shape of a solid blue coloured two seater roundabout (or "flying saucer") with a large brown bunny seated in the centre with simulated controls as if he were piloting the ship. However, there was also a steering wheel in front of each of the children's seats, so I dread to think where the bunny actually took his imaginary spacecraft!

Pleasureland Amusements, Whitby, April 2012.  I'm told that this ride has been at Pleasureland since the early 70s.  It was in remarkably good condition for its age at the time of filming with all its original colours and even the original musical soundtrack.  Unfortunately, due to the surrounding noise of other arcade machines, I can't work out the tune.

Original Kart applied for a license to manufacture this ride in Italy in March 1972.
