I don't know a lot about this unusual ride. I believe it is of Italian origin, dating from the early 1970s. However, I have found records of at least two Italian Popeye rides in 1972, one made by Fiberglass Line, the other by Original Kart. (Unless one of these companies was actually acting as distributor for the other company's ride).
The Fiberglass Line Popeye ride was exhibited at the Enada I in December 1972. It was officially distributed in the UK by PRW, so I feel this is most likely the one. However, if anybody has further information or proof of the manufacturer of this machine, I would love to hear from you.
